Shipping & General F.A.Q

Will your products be compatible with Nintendo 64, SNES, or Virtual Boy clone systems that may enter the market?

Yes. Very likely to be 100% compatible.

What can I do to get my order out faster?

  • Orders made on Thursday has a chance of getting shipped by Monday; if that weekend is next build cycle.
  • During the build weekends we sometimes check for new order, so if not too late we built it with the others.
  • Sooner you make the order the better.
  • For large order send us some advance notice or ask when next build cycle is. This will help us check/adjust inventory quickly. Some customer even order "Custom Cart" as down payment for future builds. We'll reserves/have your boards/parts set aside at price you checkout.
  • If make one order then make another order few days or a weeks later. Please note in check-out notes "Please note, I've made prior order for..." That why during build cycle easy for us group them together.
  • Some customer pay extra for expedited shipping, so if we have two orders for same item and only one in stock it goes to the customer who paid more on shipping, then we build the other a week or more later.
  • Insure your shipping details are correct; the contact info requested during checkout for shipping use only. Also, if have issue with shipping rate/item-type try different web browser.
  • Insure any pre-made agreements (normally done through emails) are clearly written out during checkout notes. If include spare CIB box, color cart, special requests, etc. We sometimes have a lot of orders and builds can go late into the night. We print each order on paper and lay your parts/repo/order on this paper, so having it written in those check-out comments really helps the team keep things organized.
I sent an inquiry to you and never got an answer. Why?
We always answer and fully read every single inquiry. If you didn't get our email reply to your question/comment/issue/request something is wrong.
Yet, this rarely happens.

Please check you span filter, or re-inquire in a week or so. Maybe check or send another email address. If your inquiry was a missing label/part we like already shipped out your replacement. Just not sure why our follow-up email not reaching you.

You send my cart, but you noted the proper label be mailed later. I never got my proper label?

We apologize. At times our labels are low and we build/ship your cart anyway. Then normally we ship correct label later. Sometimes, given large orders, multiple team members, builds going late into the night, & life in general then we forget to send the replacement label.

Simple send us an follow-up & we'll try address it right away. With so much going on sometimes. Some things slip between the cracks. If something like this happened just let us know. We normally give you a good deal or do special request to make it up after.

Do you insure shipments? What happens if it gets lost?

All shipments are well packaged with extra paperwork/labels. If small shipment becomes lost, or if Protesters raid a shipping truck with your order on it, we'll send a free replacement; as its cheaper and less hassle than insuring, and we want to support our Protesters retro-gaming needs.  Larger shipments will have a tracking shipping rate and will be investigated if become lost.

To date we only had one shipment lost. It was a large VB order to Japan. We-remade the full order and shipped it out again for that customer with an extra VB game. The postal system said the parcel was lost, but we think it was stolen. So technically we may never had lost one.

I got my reproduction today, but it does not work? How many tests should I do? This not great experience.

We do good testing before any build ships out. Yet for every 100-200 reproduction we make there will be the odd dud. It happens. This more common on N64 side of things. It works at our end, but not when get to you. The soldering process applies Hight-Heat, as such some parts decide give trouble later. Again this not very common in happening.

Our normally ship you a free replacement. If you got a Nintendo security screwdriver we'll just ship a PCB, but if you really need a full cart get in contact with us, quick video of it not working would help, and we'll ship it out to you at no cost.

Should boot upon first try. Don't try more than 10 times. It either works or not. Please don't forget some games need Expansion Packs. And some cheap Expansion Packs gives trouble.

We find its best to build and ship a free replacement than over test each item built. We know its not fun if your the one that gets the dud, but we'll make it up! To date we had no reproduction fail in the wild, just some new duds after shipping.

Can I ship Carriers/Couriers to my P.O. Box?

Sadly no. Major Couriers like FedEx do no ship to a P.O. Box. If you selected this during check-out we'll simply change shipping method to highest rated postal parcel service with tracking.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, all around the worldwide - Australia, Germany, Denmark, etc. Our worldwide check-out rates normally reflect average cost. You may request custom rate depending on your location and preferences (speed vs cost).

We also have a budget worldwide shipping rate, but only applies to single items You may also make multiple orders/checkouts on these applicable items which will ship in separate envelopes.
I'm a major courier service checking your Website. Are you interested in opening and account with us?  Who do you use right now?
Let us know if have any questions. We don't mind opening an account. We are fully licensed business and have Chartered Accountants review our books year end.

We use all of the below and have no complaints. We seen each of you step up in helping us and our customers. Thank you!
  • UPS - What can brown do for your retro gaming?
  • DHL - Keep up with the retro gaming clicks!
  • FedEx - Relax its FedEx in the game.
  • Canada Post - Delivering the retro gaming world!
I like to make smaller or single orders during the month. Then you can group them into bigger shipments later.
Does this work for you?
We can make that work. We do prefer you make a single larger order. As this helps us manage orders and build cycles better.
If make many smaller orders, please add in check-out notes "blanket order for (your name)" or add to prior order ####.
Depending on our inventory with blanket orders we'll fast track some orders or delay others. As you given us some extra flexibility on multiple shipments.
Your VB Lettermail shipping rates are cheap! Can you apply that to N64 orders? I live in Mexico.
We now have a Lettermail N64 Game Pak rate. As requested by popular demand. Remember to select the right available rate for you item.
I live in Europe what chance get hit with import duty/tax?
Smaller without-tracking-orders will have no duty or extra fees. Such as single VB card, PCB, label order, or single N64 Game Pak.

Larger orders with tracking likely have duty/tax. Not much we can do about this. However, we can include some free products with large international orders to help you balance shipping and duty/tax costs. This only applies to certain products.

I had a bad experience shopping online? Also, this guy online said things?

Totally understand. Happens to us too. May we suggest a test order. Pick a cheaper item/title. Once your order arrives, is in your hand, and play fine in your system, the results will speak for both of us! Some guys online like make hasty conclusion for other people or want control the retro gaming market. Like other aspects of life in general be mindful of both sides of the story & make your own choices.

We can list a title (that you wish to purchase) on our eBay page, but you must purchase it shortly after listing. As eBay shopper know eBay has its own policing system and we are on good terms with them.
I’m not sure if my order was processed. Do you send a confirmation email?
Yes, all orders have a confirmation email. The odd time PayPal lags out. Please let us know if not seen the order confirmation email.

I’m a bit overwhelmed with your many selections. What advice do you have?

Focus on titles/genres that you known and enjoyed. And games that are important to you! To play and to own! In addition, some research with Google, and YouTube can go a long way. Regarding accessories, think about what most useful for your retro gaming needs.

Where do you hide the best deals?

Our best deals in the "On Sale" category and sometimes on eBay www.ebay.ca/usr/vintex64 to encourage new customers and to clear out extra stock.  Listed prices to remain the same for all customers for fairness.

Can I provide my own custom label? Do you print your own labels?

Yes. Simple place your order and email us your custom label, or idea for label, right away. Please note, this request may delay your order a week; depending on our next label printing cycle. All our labels are printed by local shop.

Can I simply make an order of 10 games or more on your website - right now!

Everything on our website is 100% ready to sell! We have heavy inventory of everything. You can make multiple large orders if wish.

Please bear in mind a few details:
  • In stock items their corresponding prices are one per customer.
  • Reproductions of rare games are one per customer. It will be noted in description if applicable.
  • If we don't have all labels in stock we can use a generic label and send final label via regular mail after next print cycle.
  • Depending on qty we'll aim to meet the monthly build cycle.
  • You may make multiple orders, but each group of qty 10 max. We suggest make first order of 10 what like/made/ship first.
  • All very large orders will be shipped Courier or tracked for increase reliability, tracking, and security. Courier shipments also have optional drop location in your area and specific date delivery requests. You can simple call the courier to make specific arrangements.
  • We normally keep stock for 300+ N64 or VB reproduction builds/parts. So we are ready.
  • Link Cable, N64 color carts, C'Pak shells, and some other products are limited stock. It will be indicated in product description.

What do your price's really reflect? Is this really a good deal for me?

The price's reflect the service we provide and not so much a product. Cost of quality parts, the custom circuit board (PCB), our labour, and other business expenses. There is no markup profits for ourselves. We do this for the player, the collector, and for the N64, SNES, & VB.

Our prices are actually quite low; all things considered. Again, like any purchase think about what are your retro gaming needs are? What is important to you? And make an informed purchase. Sure Flashcarts & Emulation give more verity, but we find many players soon return to their fewer favourite titles again and again.

What happens if my Vintex 64 Game Pak/Card suddenly stops working a year henceforth?
Or I come across a game-breaking-glitch that I cannot play around?
Or if I discover a newer version of rom in the title I purchased with better gaming content?

This is rare, but things happen. We stand behind our products and want to know if any are not living up to official Nintendo quality. Mind you, if your son used it as a hockey puck for a week that a different story. We'll need some info to confirming any game-breaking-glitch or newer rom. We are quite careful to insure we have the latest rom; most don't see any updates over the years. Yet, some items we don't have updated ROMs for. We'll normally note the version on the website.

Our common solution for above is sending you a free replacement at no cost to you.

In your opinion how long will the official N64, SNES, & VB Game Paks/Cards last?

Fact #1 - Nintendo had a very strict quality process. Fact #2 - We worked with a lot of Game Paks/Cards, and its quality is always demonstrated.
We believe if taken care off (don't put it in the toaster), they’ll easily last longer than you and me; that includes Vintex 64 Games Paks/Cards.

What is the best way to avoid buying a fake/counterfeit of an expensive official N64, SNES, or VB Game?

Ask the seller for an image of the Game Printed Circuit Board (PCB), with his contact info and date within the picture (written on a paper).  Then compare it to known example images of the circuit board (Google-Image "game name"  & "PCB"). When it comes to expensive items, there is no excuses for any seller not to buy a cheap Nintendo security screwdriver from Amazon/eBay and provide an image. Bear in mind, N64 fakes are much more common than VB fakes.

The only exception to this above rule is the N64 Turok Rage Wars Grey version; see more info at this link.

What steps is Vintex 64 taking to protect collectors who focus on authentic official N64, SNES, & VB games?

All Vintex 64 Game Paks/Cards have a custom circuit board & labels that clearly identifies it as unofficial. In addition, any suspicious requests/orders will be denied with requester information recorded in a list. In addition, if you have been scammed, and they used a Vintex 64 PCB, please get in contact with us and let's work together to track down what happened.

To date, no one has tried anything, likely because of the paragraph above.

Do you trade/barter? I'm little tight on money right now.

We done number of trades. If you have some N64, SNES, VB games (or related hardware) we'll work something out. Even if your stuff not working or in any condition.  Some of the team members are collectors too.

Please, reasonable offers only. We normally exchange tracking details so you may have cover some outward shipments. Also, making an prior order (even if small), often helps make the process simpler/faster.

Do you buy unwanted N64/VB games or related stuff? I'm not a retro gamer.

Sure. Email us a list or a few quick images and get a free quote. We also cover shipping. A reminder this service is more focused on unwanted lots.

I programmed that mod/homebrew you have listed, and I don’t like... the label you created.

We highly respect the people who invested a deal of their personal time in making quality game mods or homebrews! Which contribute to enrich the N64, SNES, VB library for everyone. And yes, we can change the label, description, or if anything else needs discussing please let us know.

We aim for original author's permission before re-purposing. Sometimes its hard, and sometimes we jump ahead. We apologies.

Also, please be mindful if you truly had full permission from the game developer to re-use their retro gaming content in your mod to begin with.

A friendly reminder, that the prices reflect the hardware and business cost; we don't profit from the gaming content. Furthermore, some of these mods are not easy to prep for the Game Pak/Card and may require coding changes of our own. We also wish note many developer have given us full permission to use there content.

I'm with a team of programmers on a N64, SNES FX, VB game project. We maybe interested in Cart/Card release?

We'll be very gratefully for the opportunity to manufacture or maybe distribute your private or public N64/VB game.  We have existing inventory and depending on scale of your teams project we can design a custom/new PCB. We will respect all conditions you may have.

Also, we would not mind sending/selling you our hardware - if you plan open your own store for your content. We'll pre-make or sell you all the raw materials to meet your customer demand. We only request that you have a permanent store, for every day of the year, so people can get access to your physical content.

What assistance can you provide in validating our coding project on real hardware?
What advantages does your PCB design have over FlashCarts or Emulation when I'm programming it?

We can can do some tests at our end with emerging rom. Our PCB design heavily reflect the original game circuitry for future clone system compatibility, ease of manufacturing, to use standard parts, and to keep it simple; the golden engineering rule.
UPATE: We have new service available for program developers/coders!
Every month we can program/build your beta rom/file into one of out PCB/Boards and ship it to you after each monthly build cycles. You then get the chance to run it in your hardware at home for extensive tests. If want few iterations in later months that fine. We only ask that when complete you ship back all prior boards for re-purposing at our end. We'll recycle them. Cost for this service can be as low as $20-$25 per month depending on PCB/board/hardware needs.
Are your Cart/Card re-programmable? Do you sell your program device?
Our cart/card are not re-programmable. They are engineered to be true and reliable cartridge based on Nintendo engineering perimeters. They are not flash-carts dressed-up as a cartridges. We use a professional electronics industry chip programmer and solder the chip in after. This helps us make cost-effective reproductions; this is our aim. We are think about making a  budget flash cart in the future for N64, SNES FX, VB, but not sure if will proceed.

Who the guy that designs the PCB's, 3D models, or drawings Vintex 64 uses?
I read in forum, or guys said on a Discord, that Vintex 64 is using someone's else PCB's!
This stuff must come from somewhere!

"Vintex" is the guy who designed all the PCBs, 3D models, drawings, etc. He working in the Engineering field for over 15 years and enjoys apply these skill to Vintex 64 products with the team. All products on Vintex 64 website are custom engineered from the ground up for: reliably, low cost, for the gaming content. In addition they are engineered to be easy to assembly/build, & to use very common parts. This is sadly why some products take some time to develop. Vintex take the extra time upfront to make it once rather than re-design it a few times over. The first Vintex 64 PCB he designed is still selling & being manufactured today.

Vintex 64 never uses anyone else PCBs, 3D models, or designs. The odd time we may re-sell another type of Repo, but not often and the customer will be informed beforehand.

We don't know why some forums or discord groups say that. All PCBs are clearly marked "Vintex 64" model number. The Vintex 64 Custom Cart/Card website pages clearly show our PCB with Vintex 64 part numbers. Maybe this is because "Vintex" normally keeps a very low profile. Other developers are more active in the Retro Gaming Community showing-off their work in custom websites, long forum entries, or Discord groups.

Does Vintex 64 make reproductions of other retro gaming systems?

We plan to focus on the Nintendo 64 & Virtual Boy; yet we did get into the SNES FX games.  There are other services on the web that focus on other retro gaming systems.

I run a modest YouTube channel related to N64/SNES/VB. I'm thinking about some of your products/services?

We welcome your feedback. We can ship discount item for review purposes.

I like your website. Is there something I can do in contributing?

Spreading the word around and talking about us in retro gaming forums/chats goes a long way.
We thank you very much for the positive feedback; it helps with those harder days. And we don't mind getting the other kind of feedback either.
We also greatly appreciate those who stand up when feel thing get little too biased. It does make a difference!

Why do some over-push for a world without reproductions in retro-gaming?
They can be a bit mean and not open to discussing this? Something seems odd and one sided with them?

We discovered over the years sometimes a lot going on behind close doors in retro gaming. Sharing, compromising, opening a dialogue, and change is never easy.

At times their are puppet maters in retro-gaming trying to pull the strings or influence the future or just want thing kept/changed more toward their favor. They don't-want-you-to-know this is going on and some of them can be mean. They can use statements as smokescreens, twists facts, and they often take advantage of their control in programing or hardware. Another trick they do is get their followers to re-enforce certain believe-system that they want everyone, and you, rolled into.

Be careful if get between something in the above paragraph. If a mean group they won't play fair.

We believe no one has right to tell any retro gamer what they are to use, own, or collect. That is your choice. We are also concerned this may backfire with market control which may keep prices or content away from players on a tight budget. To that end, we feel the N64, SNES, & VB belongs to everyone! The more people keep playing/using the more it will benefit us all. We feel the many, many, small fish in the ocean are just as important as any bigger fish.

I heard about a group that gave you guys a really hard time.  For the record I support you and I'm not alone.

We very much appreciate the support! It goes a long way! We honestly quite surprised who steps up during those days.

We feel the Retro Gaming Community has an energy/movement of its own, it will prevail, and is bigger than one man, one women, on programmer group, or one hardware group. If a collective Community wishes for certain products, at low-cost, or even its existence - a builder or builder's group will always come along. Sometimes progress can look like an problem.

What we feel is the more collaboration, working together, and taking a back seat for the greater good the stronger the Retro Gaming Community will be and benefit everyone in the long run. To quote a great gamer quote:

"We all make choices in life, but in the end our choices make us." Andrew Ryan, Bioshock

You retro-gaming hardware builders normally disappear from the face-of-the-Earth or don't last too long.

True, many long term retro-gamers know hardware guys come and go. We noticed you fellows normally buy two of our reproduction's, one as a spare.

When Vintex created Vintex 64 he had one major objective in mind: a simple retro-gaming factory open every day of the year; so you can get these products at a reasonable price. He designed the business & invested in ways to keep things simple and for long term operation. It can be hard at times, but a good system, with good choices, will prevail.

We're not going anywhere. When you take our reproduction/product from your self many years from now and you for fun look for our website again you'll see we are still here.

I've been around... and got an Unreleased N64, SNES FX, or VB game file or its on a Prototype Development Cart.
What would you offer? I wish to remain anonymous.

Many players will greatly appreciate your actions in contributing to enriching the N64, SNES FX, or VB library!  Depending on what it is, and after some form of confirmation that it’s playable or can be made playable. We’ll aim to accommodate all your needs and respect all your wishes as you see fit.
Disclaimer: By placing an order you acknowledge to have read and understand the product description and back/rear label of the Vintex 64 Game Pak/Card.
Orders must have proper shipping rate for item type, review shipping options carefully during check-out.
