Old Prototype Stock - is for older models of this reproduction that we're selling off. The PCB will use wires & not our adaptor PCB.
The label may have imperfections & the rear shell will have cosmetic damage (faded grey, scratches, or yellow stains).
Yet, the game/rom plays the same as "new stock". Please note stock is limited & one per customer.
New Stock - will use our nicer adaptor PCB, new die cut label, & high quality shells. Cart will look really good.

When it comes to reproduction & cancelled games Star Fox 2 is a big one! If Google: reproductions or cancelled games the first image that likely to pop up is Star Fox 2. It's also known for "The game that almost was".
With the big success of the original Star Fox work begin right away on Star Fox 2 & use utilise the more powerful Super FX 2 chip. Development went late into the SNES life cycle with Nintendo planning a release in late summer of 1995. At this time other Super FX 2 game titles been in development too. During the winter 1995 CES show hype and interest was very high with the previews of Star Fox 2. Sadly, the ground gained by the more powerful PlayStation & Sega Saturn system quickly had Nintendo pushing the Nintendo 64. As such, Star Fox 2 was seen as an ageing graphics and was scraped quietly for the revamp Star Fox 64.

A nearly complete prototype of the game was leaked on the internet by an anonymous source which later was translated by a talented team who repaired many bugs, added unique Star Fox 2 logo, & likely did other custom tweaks. This version of Star Fox 2 is commonly known as the “Aeon Genesis” version or “Fan Translation”. See some of the notes by “Aeon Genesis” himself in this text file.
This version is quite similar to the SNES mini version of Star Fox 2, but many still enjoy/prefer this edition. The English translation more blunt/adult wording, efficient use text/wording, auto lock on shots enabled from the start, less difficulty, use select button to switch to third person, & has other minor changes that give this edition bit of unique feel. Just bear in mind this edition does have some bugs, but it’s fully playable and enjoyable.

Bear in mind, manual geared toward the SNES mini version.
Overall, Star Fox 2 is likely one of the best games on the SNES. Receiving many high reviews, but some criticising its age & look. Yet, everything about Star Fox 2 is an upgrade from the original. More freedom, more strategy, better sound, better graphics, fast pace action, and unique game experience & details. Many feel the aspects/character of Star Fox 2 work very well in its own right and that the later Star Fox titles/franchise fail to capture the magic, style, action, experience, or the heart of Star Fox 2.
