Color display, sound, & limited controller test programs
This Test Cart provides: system version, display colors table, music and sound selection, and controller input. A more elaborate test program suit with graphic interface that was designed for preparing/testing arcade machines for public use, yet adapts well to N64 system and accessories.
Eleven Beat – World Tournament is a cartoon style soccer game meant for arcade machine which use Athen 64 hardware; arcade hardware based on the N64 on sold in Japan. During some Vintex 64 tests we came across this testing program suit, and got it working on Vintex 64 Game Paks.
SYSTEM TEST
Displays system version. May not display anything for some N64 systems.
DISPLAY TEST
Displays a grid and color chart.
INPUT TEST
Being coded for arcade controllers (which does not use all N64 controller buttons), it will not confirm inputs of Z, L, C-UP, and C-LEFT. Also, can only checking the D pad in controller port 1. For analog stick coordinate numerical feed-back need be in controller port 2. We recommend other Vintex 64 test carts for more complete controller tests.
SOUND TEST
This is where this test cart really shines. Option of 90 sound effects and 19 music tracks from Eleven Beat game. The music is of good quality which clean sound/melodies that reflect classic Megan Man music.
Please note, this test cart has no other features than those listed above; other than confirming that system and Expansion Pak is working. The other options in menu are Athen 64 hardware specific. Athen 64 was only released in Japan and is quite rear to find and has limited library.
Definitely a worthy entry to the Vintex 64 test cart category, with its well round of features, most nice graphic interface and good sound/music.
REQUIRES: Expansion Pak
