Bangai-O or "Bakuretsu Muteki Bangaioh" is a 2D Japanese shoot-up game, with simpler graphics that plays similar to some old school 2D shooters. It’s very well done, delivers good challenge, thinking, learning and heavy action.
Game has 44 levels of cleaver and action pack design 2 different pilots/characters that can switch between during the game. Each characters give special strengths needed to progress the game. Despite being 2D with older style graphics, the game pushes the N64 hardware to limits with heavy power attacks that intentionally slow down the game.
A Dream Cast version of same game exists in North America and Europe but many feel this N64 version if far superior. This game is not converted to English, it’s the Japanese N64 version of game, but on North American Repro Game Pak. This title does have a story, but players not missing-out on much of the over Japanese style stereotype story of super robot save world etc. Players can navigate the menus figure out the settings with some practice.
This game also a very sought out by collectors. As original Japanese release was very limited manufacturing. Even rarer than Clay Fighter Sculpture Cut, and is very expensive to purchase in original Japanese Pak.
This Game Pak includes a save chip and saves fine.
For those looking for good action pack, classic gaming, that make you think, your going to want this! This is quite a gem on the N64 for being very unique, challenging, rare and fun gaming experience.
