A Quality Light-Hearted Game
A sequel to the popular 1986 arcade game. This is a top-down perspective, scrolling shooter, where you play single or co-op mode; in co-op both characters will be in the same screen together. You play as a young maiden (Pocky) & her pet Raccoon (Rocky).
Game screens move horizontally or vertically, and your character can move in eight full directions. With a total of 6 detailed levels, with many enemies, mini bosses, & big bosses. Each character has some differences with strengths and weakness. Game has many neat power-ups available to increase each player abilities. This game knows how to keep you busy and engaged.
The game is set, themed, and styled to far east with heavy Japan references. Which is quite a change from western style action themed pop culture.
Game starts of quite simply, but later levels can get harder. Yet infinite continues give you plenty of opportunities.
Sound and music known be very good, with great little theme song, and good sound effects.
The game was quite well received, and many sequels/remakes emerged in the future. Many highlighted the two-player mode having a lot of value. How the controls where easy to pick-up & play. Another highlight is the well-animated, colorful, great sprite details, special effects, and weather effects.
A real gem of a title, often ranking in many top 100 Snes lists of all time. Very sweat, cute, or light-hearted; this title that has a lot of value.
And surprise many players how they go back to it again & again.
