Also goes by name "Sonic the Hedgehog 4" or "Sonic & Knuckles" yet game does not have knuckles. This was an original mod by Twin Eagles Group to the existing Speedy “Gonzales: Los Gatos Bandidos” Snes game. Released without permission around 1996 it was an early bootleg that was circulation around Mexica with some limited copies making it to North America.
This mod/bootleg replaced Speedy sprite with Sonic, the captured mice with Mario that acts as checkpoints, & the cheese with rings. The title screen was changed for Sonic artwork. The programmers themselves did voice recordings that are in that game; they speak “Mario” or “Sonic, Sonic!” dialogue.
The graphics and background is altered/glitched, levels been altered, and after the level complete Sonic running with score calculated at end of level.
Note, you have new kick ability purposed to class sonic ball. You need to experiment with kick ability to beat bosses, and modes for play, that bit special for this game & need to time it right with boss fights.
The original Speedy game was not very well received and got average to poor reviews. As such don’t expect super high quality Sonic game here. Some also find this port/mod/bootleg a big odd.
However, if look past the some simple/lower development, the game can be quite fun in its own modest way. The mod/work has its own charm to, it is well appreciated by some, and well welcomed to the Snes library by many.
