A solid 3D homebrew game.
Spacer is a pretty solid homebrew! It delivers a flying 3D experience to collect items while avoiding obstacles and enemies. Your given the option of 4 characters each with different strengths and weakness. It has a 3D feel that rear for N64 homebrews and for those willing to look past its rough edges, this title delivers fun and unique experience.
The graphics are as home-brew as they go, the controls and camera views are rigid and frustrating at times. The music has a nice rhythm; being a remix of popular songs; such as Made in Japan and the Popcorn Song.
This homebrew was submitted, and likely created for 1998-1999 “Presence of Mind" (POM) homebrew N64 game competition which was led by dextrose.com (a N64 news website back then) and promoted by Bung Enterprise. We could not find any records on how this game did, but it is Vintex 64 option it should have been a finalists.
Spacer delivers a fun gaming experience for those with an open mind, and willing to look over the rough edges. A little known and almost forgotten gen, but it now gets a Game Pak of its own.
