High Quality/Value Title!
Options Note.
Set in the Wild West with steampunk & sci-fi influences. The story follows "Annie" & her bounty hunter "Clint", in seeking revenge for the death of her family. Play as Annie or Clint who sidestep/jump in the foreground while shooting down enemy robots/creatures while dogging bullets. Gameplay mechanics combine 3rd person & light-gun like aspects.
Graphics with great details and lavished attention. The odd mix of sci-fi and Wild West works quite well and lead to creative enemies & neat bosses. Total of 6 levels; each with 2 stages, a mini-boss at end, and 3rd stage with main boss. All which is fun in single player, but 2 player much better.
Each level not overly long, and game has a balance between longevity & frustration. So be aware game not easy to compete. It’s a harder one. Yet, we have a patched version of game with invincibility.
This item also available in two Rom Types:
Reviews where very good upon release. Many find it a cult classic and praised the gameplay, co-operative mode, & graphical details. The detailed, a male & female shooter characters; not common at the time. Other noted the special type of game-play has become a lost art.
Development had a very modest time-line of only 5 months, a small team with 3 main members and 2 support staff. The voice recordings was done in local building washrooms. This game is quite an accomplishment for this small team. Define budgeting-madness, this game maybe better, or last longer, than some of the modern day 1 billion production game titles.
Release was delayed to third quarter of 1995, late in snes lifecycle. As such was hard to find due to late & limited release. Current eBay listings for originals are pushing $500 to $1,000. Even other reproductions on eBay are going for $100 to $200 (Boxed).
Overall, this game is very overlooked. Considered a high quality & high value title! Many just find it spectacular. I know these are big statements. Check other reviews online you’ll see where being honest.
Now you can ride off into the sunset owning an actual cart from the Vintex 64 team at a great price!
