FAQ:
Can you provide the official OEM (original Virtual Boy game) pcb blanks?
Sadly no, we find them too hard to work with and not best quality.
Do you have a SRAM blank pcb?
Yes, simple inquire for more details. Keep in mind they have more parts attached. As SRAM a more complex circuit.
This is free sample for Vintex 64 customers?
Yes, idea is its a repair part and neat show peace. We got idea from pcb factories that give away show pieces too. If want make sure get one simple type in check-out notes:
“Please include a free Vintex 64 Virtual Boy Repair pcb blank with my order.”
This pcb will make original VB games in reproductions; I’m going to Discord about this!
Correct, the chip & shell will be original, but the game will now be part reproduction.
People do like to repair their stuff. Re-buy expensive titles or owners may have semimetal history.
Interesting fact all prior repair job the Vintex 64 team got had focus on working again & customers keeping the item.
Please keep the above facts in mind in your Discord chat; as some community members may not want enter you discussion.
I’m no good at soldering, but if got your blank & need a Virtual Boy game repaired what you recommend?
Try to find a local school with electronics lab, TV repair shop, local electronics service or advance computer repair store; you’re looking for someone with some soldering skills.
Our PCB is super easy to work with, but the person will need some soldering & de-soldering skills. The original Nintendo chips are pretty tough, but you still want to avoid overheating them. Try giving this shop a scrap game or two to practice on.
Why are you making this & to high qty?
In the far future we may start seeing original pcb's give more trouble. So we want to be ready in case demand is required.
The OEM chip will last a very long time, but the pcb is another story. Time will tell & lets hope for the best.
What is the big deal with features on this PCB? I don’t know much about electronics.
The original Virtual Boy pcb is alright but was cost-effective-mass-manufacturing. Ours, made incorporates much of what we learned over the years making Virtual Boy boards.
To put it simple regarding:
All that technical stuff aside we thinks it looks neat on your desk or makes for a conversation peace with meeting other retro gamers! We hope it has earned some space in you collection!

The original Virtual Boy pcb is alright but was cost-effective-mass-manufacturing. Ours, made incorporates much of what we learned over the years making Virtual Boy boards.
To put it simple regarding:
- The higher copper: picture using a power drill with a new shorter heavy duty extension cord - that our pcb. Now picture a long thinner extension cord that is over 20 years old – that would be original VB pcb.
- The thicker PCB: picture your car on a flexy road vs a more ridge road. You like 4 tires to have good grip on the road, you want the chips have good grip on pcb. Good contact keeps chip happy & helps with vibration protection.
- OEM has small package size electronics are designed for automated equipment in factories to pump out boards like chiclets or people with $5,000+ electronics microscope.
- Our board was designed for guys with "shaky hands" and $20 soldering iron & flexible to different passive parts.
