This was a very promising Kayak racing action game that was scrapped due to Eidos Interactive (publisher of Looking Glass Studios) falling into financial troubles resulting in the game cancellation. This prototype could have also been the same version shown behind closed doors at E3 1999 to generate buzz with press outlets (see article in image).
This Game Pak requires the Expansion Pak to deliver the impressive real water rendering effects and physics; impressive even for this early build of game. You can choice 1 of 3 characters and have access to one level; the 2nd level does not boot. Despite one playable level; it’s quite long and surprising a really fun run. Even better is the option of 2 players! The characters and level models are quite nice and each character has some nice movements. The controls are nicely responsive and the music fits the game very well.
Despite being an early development prototype, the one large level and 2 multiplayer option delivers a readable amount of gaming content and has a nice simple thrill to it that anyone can enjoy playing.
