Developed by Factor 5 & published by Sekia, this game a sort of cross between Contra 3 & Metroid. With power-ups, enemies, and 4 worlds. You play as McGuire (in a robotic suit), on a United Planets Freedom Forces to the location is a small star system floating in the endless spiral arms of a black hole. Little do the inhabitants of the planets know about the menacing hordes of the Machine. Picture it as a Western inspiration from Japan to make a game with flashy graphics, amazing special effects, & killer gameplay.
This is the Beta Sequel to the original Super Turrican.
Reviewers where very good; all in the upper 8, or 9 out of 10. Reviewers noted the great action, multiple settings and gameplay, & quality.
Like its predecessors, the game been presided for really good graphics and its futuristic design.
Game also pushes the boundaries of graphics & sound. Rich music that engaging that even support Doubly Surround sound; which quite something for Snes back in 1993. Many find its music really hold up well in modern times. A reminder, the Snes hardware did have powerful sound chips.
Game does take bit of hit for not being a refined/powerful as Classics like Contra 3. it does have a steep difficulty level (not issue with most player), & not overly long game. As many players wanted more.
Overall, Super Turrican & Super Turrican 2 still a technology accomplishment this Beta version of sequel has much or final version, in 1MB package, that available to the Snes fan alike.
